Marry Nintendo Entertainment System Day!

Regarding the title... Wed NES Day = Wednesday.

Today is Wednesday, so I will post something about Toofsday, er Tuesday.

So Toofsday was uh, interesting... spent a bunch of time at the dentist getting a toof fixed. After being there awhile, I wondered why there are not mobile dentists. Of course, I knew there had to be... so I googled it today...yup..lots.

[Note about Wednesday... I don't like driving in the rain.]

Lords Of Sushi

I went to see Lords of Dogtown last night. It definately not a movie for everyone. I guess since I was involved with skateboarding in the 70s and 80s that I enjoyed seeing another side of the people that I came in contact with during that time. However, it was one of those movies that didn't need to be seen in a theater...DVD would be fine. I wished I was doing something else for the 107 minutes.

When I got home, in the mail was an envelope from Mikuni.

Since I recently moved, I thought it was something to do with my address change request or maybe a newsletter.

I had written via email a few weeks ago asking how to change my address for my Koki Club card. (Koki Club is Mikuni's frequent diner program.) During the back and forth of email, I mentioned that I went to Mikuni for my birthday and my friend paid for dinner so I didn't get to use my Koki Club card. Jeanne said "What kind of friends wouldn't let you slip the card onto the tray?"  :)  As I mentioned to her, they also had a Koki Club card so I didn't think I would get away with it.

As I opened the envelope I felt another card inside, so I thought it was an new Koki Club card, however, it was not... It was a $100 Mikuni Gift Card!!!! with a belated happy birthday greeting... so kewl!

I wish I had time to go there for lunch today!

You cannot believe how frustrating it is to this moger having the GC in my wallet... I want sushi!

Comcast Part II

The next day, still had problems but calling Comcast helped.  They remotely hooked up to the cable modem and got it back online.

Now hoofing problems with the old router.  Need to go thru all the boxes to find and unpack the newer router.

Why is it so hard?

I had a Motorola cable modem at my apartment for use with Comcast High Speed Internet service.  When I first installed it, the software from Comcast choked. When I called a few times they finally figured out that I was not "provisioned."

So, I got that straighten out and got online.  No real problems for about 4 months (one day it was down for a couple hours.)

Now, I am moving into a house, so I cancelled the cable at the apartment and setup a new account at the house.  CableGuy comes by and sets up the digital cable... I setup the cable modem.  It works right away, without having to install anything.... OK... so far so good.  Next day - dead.  Call Comcast and am told that the modem is not provisioned nor do they show Internet service on the account. Buh.  A couple phone calls and that is all taken care of... back online....until 6pm and then it just dies.... no DNS :(

So, I connect the cable modem directly to one of my computers (yeah, I have way too many computers in the house... need a 486DX?) and it says that I have to click download to install the software.  I click download and the page refreshes, over and over.  So I get out the wonderful Comcast CD and try to install. Now I get an error message from Comcast that their registration system is down and that the customer service agents have no idea about it so don't call. (Hey, at least they were honest about it.)

So, I am offline until they get their act together.

Buh.

Moooved...

Got all the stuff up here and into the house, but still not unpacked.

Comcast installed cable yesterday (interesting DVR box that I have to play with... wonder what all the ports do? :) 3 USB and 1 firewire.)

Now I just have to get the cable modem installed tonight so I will be back online from home.

Probably should unpack some more stuff before doing that, huh?

Moooving

I will be relocating this weekend (from SoCal to Sacramento) so I will probably not be posting anything until next week (then again, that isn't much different than usual. <grin>)

I was #3 this week. I wanted to be #2. It's too easy to be #1.

Got a flight on Southwest for Sacramento-Burbank $23 each way. Yeah...$23! On a holiday weekend no less... at the times I wanted to fly!

If you fly where Southwest goes, you got to get Ding!, Southwest's cool Windows app that alerts you to great deals.

Moger

yeah, the moger tail is gone.

Gotta wait to see the moger!

If moose Hooooooonk! and tigers Grr!...
what do mogers do?  Gronk?

Wierd

OK, here is the background about the previous post (yes, a post about a post about nothing.)

I thought I should just post something so I started writing. Then the "blogworthy" thing jumped into my mind, then I remembered the "sponge-worthy" episode of Seinfeld.  Then I remembered that I was posting something that was nothing and that Seinfeld was all about nothing. Then I remembered Barney Martin, the guy who played Seinfeld's dad.  I kinda knew him (at least he would say Hi and I have been over to his house a few times.) He passed away recently.  There was a memorial service that was awesome, but I couldn't make it as I was working 400 miles away. Betty White was there. So were lots of friends and others "in the biz."  Barney was a raisin in a Post Raisin Bran commerical.

OK...well.. that is enough about the post... just thought you might like to see "behind the post."  Or not.

Bored

You would think that having a general blog would make it easier to post things, but I actually am finding it a bit harder because of the mental restrictions that I put upon myself.

"Is this blogworthy?" (yeah, there is a seinfeld reference)

So, I figure I would just post, even if it is a post like this.

Yes, a post about nothing.

Maybe NBC would like to turn my blog into a television show.

PS. Barney, thanks! :)

Happy B-Day To Me!

Today is my birthday.

I can legally drink alcohol!

Oh, wait... been able to do that far too long.

I am old enough to have kids that could be old enough to drink alcohol.

Geez, I am old.

Glad I don't drink often.

Have a few more b-days... don't drink and drive.
